Neil Cavner came to us to design labels for his company as he ventured into the ready meal market. With this in mind he also wanted to have a more snappier logo/name, and although they were primarily known as a fishmongers, they were providing game and poultry meals, so maybe needed to not have the logo too focused on the fish side.

With the company being long and well established, we wanted to stay close to the traditional look. We shortened their existing title to just ‘Cavner’s’. This was a term that most local people and their customers new them by, so made sense to keep this.

We designed 2 main logos, both with the main Cavner’s name, but we did a corporate logo with the full title of the company underneath, to be used on stationery and formal items. The second, and main logo had the Established 1879 underneath, replacing the full name. This showed that the company had been in the family for several generations.

The logo was received with great praise and having done the labels, a Christmas Brochure was required along with posters, banners and leaflets. A good working relationship has developed with the company. We enjoy working with them and appreciate them trusting us with their family company’s look.

The labels were printed as shells for the coloured parts with us supplying separate bitmap files of the product flavours and information, in order that they can be overprinted onto the printed labels by Cavner’s as needed.
